Philosophy
- The Fund provides awards that
are financially meaningful for
applicants. Applicants are prioritized
primarily on the basis of proportionate
need (tax burden relative to
incmone).
- The increasing taxes cause
an escalating burden on elderly
and disabled residents. In 2004,
EDTF applicant's median tax
bill was $3,248; this was nearly
20% of the median applicants
income of $16,592.
Donor Philosophy
- Success depends on the generosity
of donors. The EDTF seeks stable,
sustainable funding through
affordable, annually recurring
checkoff donations from many
households.
- An average donation of $20 per household from just 20% of Northborough households, or approximately 800 households, would assist 30-60 applicants with tax relief of $250-500 each.

tax payment using the check-off
form provided with your tax bill.
